Izabel Loinaz
Pilates Teacher (she/her)
In 1999 my professional dance career took a sharp and painful left turn. A career-ending injury took me from total emotional, physical, and spiritual devastation to unlocking a life-long commitment to the study and practice of resilience.
My recovery at DanceMed (the pioneering, Pilates-based clinic at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital) became my first masterclass in whole-body resilience. There, I was fortunate to learn from renowned teachers like Nora St. John, Elizabeth Larkam, Mercy Sidbury, Madeline Black, and Jean-Claude West, while integrating Pilates with state-of-the-art neurological and orthopedic medicine.
As a rehabilitation specialist and supervisor at DanceMed, I worked alongside world-class physicians treating everyone from professional athletes to patients with complex medical challenges. Later, founding Spring Pilates & Yoga in Noe Valley taught me something equally vital in healing and resilience: a felt sense of belonging.
I'm thrilled to return to the studio environment and eager to work with you through your own healing journey, no matter how overwhelming it might feel in this moment. Together, we'll get you back to your hole-human, resilient self.
