PILATES INSTRUCTOR
Seeking at least 2 warm, friendly, professional, reliable team players to join our Berkeley, CA team as part-time Pilates Instructors
Innerstellar Pilates & Yoga is looking for 2-3 Pilates Instructors to join our in-person teaching team.
The general schedule is 2-3 part-time shifts per week. Currently, we have a need for a Tuesday and Thursday morning Private Session Instructor as well as a weekday evening Private Instructor (any day, your choice) and a Thursday evening and Sunday morning Reformer Class Instructor.
Regular duties include greeting the students and showing them our communication tools and machine set-up, teaching Reformer classes and putting away any small props after class. We also have a 1x monthly team meeting that you will be asked to join live if possible (or watch on the replay) so you can be in the know about studio policies, protocols and happenings.
In this role, you will not be asked to do any cleaning beyond basic tidying after your shift, nor to have scheduling or sales conversations. Here at Innerstellar, we have a high-functioning administrative and facilities support team to handle all that and more, so you can focus on showing up and doing what you do best: TEACHING!
Although most of our teachers start with a 3-4 hour shift, oftentimes after the first 60-90 days there is room to grow your schedule to 5-6 hours of teaching by adding more availability for private sessions, if desired. Your availability to add private sessions and sub other classes on occasion is a plus for us.
ABOUT INNERSTELLAR: Founded in 2011 by longtime Pilates & Yoga Educator and trained hands on healer Kiki Lovelace, Innerstellar is well known in the East Bay as a premium Pilates studio specializing in helping clients heal their chronic pain and injuries so that they can live their lives with joy and comfort, and feel well-resourced to serve their purpose in the world.
Our studio is focused primarily on offering Private Sessions and small “semi-private” group classes of up to 8 students to our highly diverse clientele.
We live into our mission of healing by prioritizing self-care among our team members and building a healthy work culture.
We make decisions based on the following values:
Liberation for All: We are an actively anti-racist, anti-oppression, body-positive business. The business provides paid training on anti-oppression themes to all team members, our CEO works regularly with an anti-racism mentor, and we are committed to continuing to discover how we can make our space more welcoming to folks with marginalized identities.
Clear and Skillful Communication: We practice clear, direct, and compassionate communication amongst team members, and regularly give and receive feedback both to and from our supervisors. Boundaries in the workplace are not only respected but encouraged, and modeled by all members of the leadership team.
Alignment-based work culture: We are skilled at helping our employees discover their areas of genius and preferred ways of working and then setting up their position to help them grow these skills and build their resume.
Learning & Growth: Joining our small, tight-knit and highly collaborative team is an opportunity for mentorship in all aspects of running a mission-driven AND profitable small business. We help our team members master skillsets that interest them and build their resumes in the direction they want to go, including small business ownership. Our employees have gone on to start their own studios, retreat businesses, marketing agencies and coaching companies and we love that part of what gave them the knowledge and courage to do so was their time spent at Innerstellar.
