What do I need to know about Yoga?
That's a big question, we're glad you asked!
Yoga becomes different things for different people. We've know practitioners that get and stay sober with yoga, that heal back injuries and recover from chronic pain. We know yogis that use their practice as a springboard to lose weight or gain weight. Some of them tell us it's mandated by their heart and Spirit for their emotional health. You may not know what yoga will become in your life just yet, but a regular practice tends to shape-shift you into the best version of yourself. The alchemy of mixing breath and mindfulness with intention is magic, and it will likely transform you inside and out.
Above all remember:
You don't have to practice every single day to be a yogi #yogaeverydamndaymightnotbeyouryoga
There is no such thing as a yoga body – if you're breathing, you have a yoga body
You don't have to be flexible to practice yoga, that's WHY you practice yoga
You are here to feel better, not to punish yourself
Life is short, so the yoga we offer at Innerstellar is simultaneously joyful, irreverant and deeply soulful
How often do I need to practice to experience results?
To experience the optimal benefits of Yoga and Pilates, it’s important to practice regularly. We recommend a minimum of 1 time per week but you'll have EPIC BREAKTHROUGHS in your body, your nervous system, and even in your relationship with your Spirit when you start practicing 3 or more times per week. Whether it's in class or at home, for 20 minutes or for an hour and a half, practicing Yoga and/or Pilates on a consistent basis will accelerate your learning and greatly enhance your overall health and wellbeing.
How do I get there?
We're located 3 blocks north of Asbhy Ave. and the Ashby BART station on the corner of Stuart and Adeline, across from Walgreens & the Berkeley Bowl. There is no dedicated parking lot but there is ample street parking available along Adeline as well as in the residential neighborhood surrounding the studio. Check the street signs for street sweeping days and times.
