3 Steps to Change Your Relationship to Stress

We can’t make the stress of modern life go away, but we CAN change our relationship to it.

Here are our 3 steps to downregulate your nervous system when you feel anxious, on edge, and up-to-here with frayed nerves and body tension:

1.  TAKE 5 DEEP BREATHS that make you sit up tall, expand your chest, and soften your shoulders a bit. When you breathe out, close your eyes, and SLIDE YOUR SHOULDERS down out of your ears. LET GO of the clench in your guts and pelvic floor (where we hold a lot of fear and struggle).

2.  TUNE IN to the messages your brain, body and heart are sending you. (DO YOU NEED REST, A HUG, A GOOD CRY, OR A BIG STRETCH TODAY? Your body won't ever lie.)

3.  Build a STRESS-RELIEF PRACTICE you can turn to each day, week, and month.

This can include walking, meditation, yoga, Pilates, surfing, prayer, journaling, playing your guitar, reading a book, or just about anything you can commit to each day that sparkles you up.

At Innerstellar, one of the best tools we’ve found to fit in all three of these steps is our Forrest-inspired yoga practice.

And Kiki will be teaching Forrest-inspired yoga in-person at Innerstellar in the intimate 8-week series format, starting on August 24th.
