We don't fit into the Instagram/Facebook "perfect" yoga chick image either. The big box yoga studios around town just felt sort of cold and lonely. (And honestly, we kept hurting ourselves). Our gyms weren't cutting it - we always left feeling sort of malnourished and a bit beaten up afterwards.

From a place of necessity, we created Innerstellar.

When I moved to the area, I started taking yoga classes at a climbing gym. The classes were great, but all the gym accoutrement and noise were distracting. Then I found Innerstellar - what a delight. Every teacher is excellent. The classes are as challenging as you want them to be, because they offer options if you can't do the pose or match the pace. I go to both yoga and pilates mat classes 4-6 times/wk, and have lost a bunch of weight, regained my physical strength and greatly improved my balance.

We offer Yoga & Pilates for every age, fitness level and stage of life to meet your goals, needs and energy!

We suggest a One-on-One (or even a handful of them) if you're in a lot of pain right now, or if you feel deeply intimidated by group classes. 

If you want to give our group classes a go, we recommend starting with our 60-minute Forrest Yoga Basics Level 1 classes, our Pilates Mixed Machine Level 1-2 or Pilates Mat All Levels. They'll give you a strong foundation for the rest of our offerings (and, ahem, the rest of your life).

If you're more athletic or already have some yoga experience, try our 75- or 90-minute Stellarflow or Forrest Yoga classes – you'll sweat, and be challenged in ways you haven't before. Like, feel your butt muscles burning type of challenge. And you'll start to peel away the layers so you can access the voice of your body and intuition – which is also the voice of your Spirit. (Your Spirit and your butt muscles are actually interrelated, but that's another story for another day.)

Upcoming Classes

 

Tips for your time at Innerstellar

  • On your first day, please arrive 10-15 minutes early to find parking, register and get ready for class. You can sip some complimentary herbal tea in our spacious lobby, or check out our little boutique!

  • Free your feet! Take off your shoes (you can leave them in the lobby or take them with you into the studio)

  • Turn off your cell phone (There are always exceptions, please talk to your teacher)

  • Fill your water bottle in our nifty Hydration Station.

  • Be sure to bring your keys, wallet and other belongings with you into the classroom. You can store them in the cubbies against the wall!

 

This studio changed my life!

At the time I started taking classes at Innerstellar, I had so much neck and back pain that I had to take off a few days of work a month. I tried yoga classes all over the Bay Area, but never found one that I liked. Within a few classes, my body felt better than it had in years. I absolutely love the feel of this studio and every instructor here. These classes are great for core strength, improving posture, fun inversions, and deep relaxation. Instructors ask at the beginning of class if anyone has any injuries and will help each student modify their practice accordingly.
